001 Generalities: Reference Works, Computers

BJ Pinchbeck's Homework Helper (http://school.discovery.com/homeworkhelp/bjpinchbeck/) Created when BJ was just 10 years old, this site provides a good list of search engines and links to various sites for help with homework by subject.

The Children's Museum of Indianapolis (http://www.childrensmuseum.com) This museum-sponsored site provides not only interesting information, but also engaging activities such as creating a multimeida puppet show and designing your own space station

Electronic Software Review Board  (http://www.esrb.org) The board tries to rate all electronic games for computers. This site explains how the rating system works and allows visitors to look up the ratings for various games.

InfoPlease for Kids  (http://www.infoplease.com/homework/) At this site you will find a homework search engine and a page full of links to useful information, including a kids' almanac, maps, news, and biographies.

Kidport  (http://www.kidport.com) Kidport provides links for kids in kindergarten through eighth grade. Select the grade, and you'll get age-appropriate links with helpful information.

Kids.gov  (http;//www.kids.gov)The government has pooled together a number of sites at this page that will help you learn all about the government and the various departments that are a part of it.

Monroe County (IN) Public Library's Parent/Teacher Resource Room   (http://www.monroe.lib.in.us/childrens/ptrr.html) This site provides a list of materials available in this special collection relating to children's literature, helping children learn to read, helping children in school, activities with children, cooking with children, birthday parties, and traveling with children.

OH! Kids  (http://www.oplin.org/ohkids/) This is a list of sites for children of all ages compiled by the Ohio Library system. It has things for tots to teens, homework helpers, and interactivities.
